Description:An interesting view taken before work started on the central park area. To the right is Avon House. to the left is the lower half of Cregoe Street which subsequently vanished under the new park. In the distance can be seen Great Colmore Street and the top of the spire of St Thomas's Church on Bath Row. Not visible here at this stage is Grant Street which may well be the marked road under construction in the foreground.

This photograph is from the Public Works photographs held by the Central Library in Birmingham but is credited on the back of the photograph (somewhat misleadingly) as "Bath Row Development".
