Description:Bookplate of John Rabone, Penderell House, Handsworth. Penderell House was on Hamstead Road close to the site of Welford School.

This is presumably one of the John Rabones of John Rabone and Sons, rulemakers. It is most likely to be John Rabone junior (1820-1892). The rule making business was founded by Michael Rabone in 1784. In 1871 Rabones business moved to Hockley from St Pauls Square.
