Description:This memorandum sets out the terms of agreement for Edward Vale the Coachman at Soho House. By this date Soho House was the home of Matthew Robinson Boulton and his young family.

Vale came to Soho on 27th May 1823 on wages of £24/3/-. The terms of agreement were to commence on 6th May. His clothing allowance consisted of two suits of plain livery and one of dress livery every eighteen months, a Box Coat every two years, a jacket and overalls every year, one or two hats a year according to circumstances and a pair of top boots per year.
