Description:This inventory of Plate in the Butler's pantry at Soho House was taken by J Westley in 1832. Soho House was at that date the home of the widowed Matthew Robinson Boulton (son of Matthew Boulton) and his family. The list covers Plate (silver items), Plated Wares (these were mostly Sheffield Plate with some gilt items), Common Glass Ware and Fine Cut Glass. The third page lists Sundries from the late Miss Boulton's. These were items which had come from Thornhill House following the death of Matthew Robinson Boulton's sister Anne in 1829. Some of her plate and glass ware was sold at the sale following her death in 1829 so these must have been pieces the family chose to keep.
