Description:Built in 1790 by James Watt who lived at the house for the rest of his life. After he died in 1819 there were several owners - amongst them the Pemberton family and the very last resident George Tangye. The hall was demolished in 1927 after which the grounds were used for building the Heathfield Estate. Watt's workroom at the house was preserved and re-erected at the South Kensington Museum in London.
