Date:23rd of November 1920 - 24th of November 1920 (c.)

Description:George Tangye, a prominent local businessman and engineer leased Heathfield Hall, the former home of James Watt in 1876 and remained there until his death in 1920.

Following his death a sale of the "Furniture, Pictures and Outdoor Effects" in the hall was held. Most of the material sold was Tangye's but some items marked with an asterisk were from the estate of James Watt and sold by the order of Major J.M. Gibson Watt.

This copy of the catalogue was presented to Birmingham Public Libraries Reference Department immediately after the sale.

Heathfield Hall was demolished in the mid 1920s.
