Description:Two adverts from the programme for the Saint James' Church Fair held at the New Inns Assembly Rooms between November 20th to 23rd 1929. Arthur Rose simply conveys he is a butcher while S. Darlington expands in some detail on his services. The GWR (Great Western Railway) train line to and from Handsworth may have been a lucrative part of his business, booking tickets and even collecting advance luggage! Arthur Rose was located at 341 Soho Road, next to the junction with Babington Road. S. Darlington traded at 305 Soho Road between the junctions with Barn Lane and Boulton Road.
