Description:A newspaper cutting from the "Handsworth Herald", 2nd January 1897.
This cutting details the case brought against 2 shopkeepers on the Soho Road for selling skinned rabbits that where unfit for human consumption. An inspector of nuisances, Albert Hodges had spotted the rabbits displayed on a slab and noticed their offensive smell.
They were later examined and it was declared that blood poisoning might have occured from eating them.
The defendant was fined £5.00 including costs.
