Description:The Elite cinema opened on 30th September 1913 at 116 Soho Road which lies between Thornhill Road and Stafford Road. The proprietor was Lizzie Mann and the first film shown was "Bread Upon The Water". In 1929 the proprietor was Albert Edward Elbourne. Advert taken from the programme for the Saint James' Church Fancy Fair held at the New Inns Assembly Rooms November 20th to 23rd 1929.
