Description:Tiptaft was the Independent candidate and is here trying to appeal to the women of Handsworth to vote for him. The use of the Elite Picture House for the talk is of interest as is Tiptaft's possibly hopeful assertion that only the first 1,000 women will get in! It is unknown how many did turn up but we do know he lost the election to the sitting MP Ernest Claude Meysey-Thompson.

The Elite Picture House stood on the Soho Road between Thornhill Road and Stafford Road.
