Description:This silver inkstand was made by Matthew Boulton and Plate Co in 1830-31. By this time the business was owned by Matthew Robinson Boulton, the son of Matthew Boulton. It contains two cut glass ink bottles, a pounce pot which held a fine sand for absorbing excess ink, a taperstick holder to hold a lit taper for heating sealing wax and a snuffer to put the taperstick out.
