Description:Oxhill or Oxhill House had two lodge entrances, one in Sandwell Road and the other in Rookery Road. Residents included the Williams family and Richard Madeley, a merchant from Birmingham who is said to have been forced to sell the house as a result of gambling debts.

It appears on the 1890 Ordnance Survey map but had been demolished by the time of the 1904 edition.

This oil painting is by Leo Lane who lived at 24 Whateley Road, Handsworth. Lane also painted Oxhill farm, available elsewhere on this site.
