Description:This pencil sketch by an unknown artist shows William Booth (1779-1812), a forger who operated from Booth's Farm. Most of his business was said to be conducted from Lichfield and the Hare and Hounds Public House in West Bromwich. He was arrested at Booth's Farm and eventually convicted at Stafford Assizes; he was one of the last people to be sentenced to death in England for forgery. Booth's Farm was demolished in February 1974.
