Description:A view of Matthew Boulton's house in the 1950's, issued as a postcard. The house was acquired by the General Electric Company at the same time for use as a hostel for their apprentices. The structure was improved and the semi-circular Ionic porch (which had been removed) rebuilt. The brick extension to the left had been added when the house was a hotel. It was taken down in the 1990's during the restoration of Soho House.
