Description:It is owned by Faith & Confidence Business Agency formerly Faith and Confidence Finance Ltd. Hence the name FCF. The club opened in September 1971. Membership was £2.00 for the year then; a proposed member had to be nominated by two other standing members. Party till you drop in the room at the top!
The club has participated in Handsworth carnival having stalls, floats, continuing their support when it became, Birmingham carnival.
It also supports a cricket team called Continental who play regularly but especially throughout the summer in Handsworth Park.
Since its opening it has always kept up a celebration for Jamaican Independence day 6 August. It has hosted events for various charities: JAMAL - Jamaica Adult Education, Sickle Cell Anemia.
Club nights are Friday, which can be booked for private parties, Saturday, Sunday.
August 1999 saw the beginning of salsa nights on a Monday evening having a beginners class and later an advance class. August 2000 saw the beginning of a social evening, dominoes and other games.
This is a club I regularly attended in my teenage years, with my sisters, and friends. In more recent years I have started to attend on a more regular basis and enjoy the atmosphere, and the fact that we have a club to call our own is something dear to my heart.
My parents set the pattern by becoming members. My mother, sister and I continue to support its events.
