Description:Reverse Plan and Sections of the Blowing Cylinder for Fothergill & Co., Sirhowy Iron Works, Monmouthshire, South Wales, August 1799.

Boulton & Watt sold several blowing engines to the iron works of South Wales. This example, for Fothergill & Co. of the Sirhowy Iron Works, was also used to power other machinery, which was driven by a crank shaft worked by the second beam to the right of the engine. This was a 20 horse power engine, and the blowing cylinder was 52 inches in diameter.
