Description:After smashing windows at the Grand Hotel in Birmingham, where Prime Minister Asquith was speaking, eight suffragettes were imprisoned in Winson Green Prison. They went on hunger strike and were released over a period of a few days under the new 'Cat and Mouse' legislation. This article is taken from the Birmingham Daily Mail on 2 August.
