Description:Rose Hill House occupied a site at the corner of Soho Road and Rose Hill Road, opposite the former Methodist chapel. It was the residence of William Creighton who was an engineer employed at the Soho Manufactory. He added an observatory so he could pursue his interest in astronomy. Creighton died aged 53 and was buried at the parish church 2 March 1831. Ten years later the house was occupied by another engineer, William Buckle, and his family. By 1852 the house was being used as a school for young gentlemen.
