Description:This plaque, erected by the Tangye Brothers of Handsworth Birmingham, is on the side of William Murdock's house in Redruth. Murdock was an engineer and worked for Matthew Boulton and James Watt. He will be chiefly remembered for his invention of gas lighting in 1792 at this house.
