Date:2nd of December 1876

Description:A newscutting from the G.H. Osborne collection reporting on the death of Maude Edith Hawkes, a barmaid from the Fox Inn, Holly Lane, Perry Barr. She died after drinking a solution of 'Battle's Vermin Killer', having tried to hang herself a few days before. No reason was known for her suicide.
