Description:This newscutting from the G.H. Osborne collection deals with the inquest into the death of William Newton of Franchise Street, Perry Barr. He had been out drinking at the Freeholder's Arms and the next day his landlady thought he looked ill. He replied that a stranger had accused him of drinking his beer and had struck him. Several days later his landlady advised him to go to hospital, he was asking the opening hours when he fell and hit his head on a fender. He was taken to the General Hospital where he later died. The verdict was accidental death.
