Date:3rd of April 1899

Description:There were a number of fatal accidents involving trams. This one was particularly poignant. Five year old Leonore Sandbrook and her brother had been on an errand and stopped at Corporation Street on the way back to watch people going into a circus. Leonore ran out into the road and was knocked down by a passing Perry Barr tram in spite of the driver's attempts to stop. She was carried to the General Hospital where she died a few hours later.
