Description:A newspaper cutting from the Birmingham Mail, 3rd October 1891.
This cutting gives details of the inquest into the death of Walter, Charles Hewitt from Birchfield Road.
Mr Hewitt had tried to jump off a tramcar while it was in motion.
The conductor "seeing that he was under the influence of drink", had tried to prevent him but had failed to stop him falling. Mr Hewitt was then taken to the General Hospital where he died half an hour later, due to injuries to his skull.
