Description:This letter is a response to reports on the inquest into the death of George Marsh Jones of Wellington Road, Perry Barr.
Mr Jones worked as a dispenser at the Childrens Hospital in Steelhouse Lane. The jury found that the "deceased died from suffocation caused by inhaling chloroform, but whether it was to destroy life or to relieve pain that he inhaled it there was not sufficent evidence to show". A cutting reporting the inquest is available elsewhere on this site.
Reports stated that the Coroner was sure that one witness, Miss Richardson was holding something back. This letter from Robert Bragge is a response to these claims.
Taken from the G.H.Osborne newscuttings collections.
