Description:The house stood on 22 acres of land bordered by what is now Island Road, Sandwell Road, Oxhill Road and Camp Lane. The house was most famously owned by the Whateley/ Piddock family for many years until sold to the Sandwell Park Colliery Company in 1887. The land was subsequently sold off piecemeal again over the years until in 1930 the house was finally demolished. The remaining available open ground is a recreation area.
