Description:Joseph Vincent Barber (1788-1838) was born and lived most of his life in Birmingham. He exhibited at the Royal Academy as well as in Birmingham. Most of his work was landscapes or topographical views such as the one shown here. He became secretary of the Birmingham Society of Arts in 1814 and remained a member of it till his death. Birmingham Art Gallery has five of his drawings in their collection.
