Description:The Old Town Hall stands at the corner of College Road and Slack Lane, and is one of the best examples in England of the cruck method of timber frame construction. This method uses curved oak timbers to support the walls. The house was originally built in 1420 but was renovated in 1625 when the mortar between the crucks were replaced with bricks. This is a rare view of the Hall taken in 1900 when the outbuildings were still standing. Today the Hall is the home of the Handsworth Historical Society.
