Date:1890 - 1940 (c.)

Description:Although built in the latter half of the fifteenth century, the Hall as it was best known was rebuilt in 1690 and then enlarged in 1735. It stood on the junction of Underwood Road and Hamstead Hall Avenue. George Kynoch (MP for Aston) lived there from 1886-1890 which is possibly when this picture dates from. Kynoch's percussion cap arms business became a limited company and formed part of the later public company ICI. This is a closeup view of another fireplace in the Hall, though sadly the painting above has been cut from the view.
