Description:Park Hill House was built in 1831 and was situated between Hamstead Hill and Hamstead Hall Road. The most famous occupant was Charles Palmer, a brewer, who lived there in 1898. Palmer achieved some fame as a racing cyclist and golfer. The house was eventually taken over by the Ministry of National Insurance before being eventually demolished in 1973. The name itself survives as that of the elderly people's home built near the site.
