Date:1942

Description:The house on the right is number 147 Freer Road, at this time lived in by Mrs Alice M Jacobs. To the left is number 145 - the home of L Potter. Both families would have had to find family or friends to live with after this air-raid in 1942. The children playing in the foreground, the line full of washing and the two housewives having a cup of tea and chat over the garden fence are indicative of life attempting to go on as normal despite the air-raids.
