Description:Handsworth Dairies opened in 1910 at Woodville Cottage on the corner of Forge Lane, the proprietors being Valentine and Carleton White. In 1917 they moved to 138 Holyhead Road and then in 1924 onto Island Road.The stables and farriery for the horses remained at Holyhead Road. The dairy is still located in Island Road, though the horses have long since been replaced by the electric milk floats!
