Description:In 1959 a large quantity of Roman Kiln debris was discovered at an address in Wellington Road. Examination of the shards of pottery, plus some cobbles in situ as working surfaces, identified the site as a Romano-British pottery of the 2nd Century AD. It was thought that the workers lived in a hamlet nearby. The pottery would have been within easy reach of the Roman Road Ryknield Street.
