Description:John Drew and Sons Flour Mills operated from near the junction with Westminster Road. It was built in 1857 and remained in the Drew family until 1958. Drew's business was founded at Edgbaston Mills in 1871 and they moved to the existing mill on this site in 1886.

Their brands were
Self Raising flour: Acme, Golden Grain, Drew's, Silver Star, Snowflake, Local and City and Gem
Plain flour: Acme, Golden Grain, Drew's Superfine, Local Plain, Snowflake, Silver Star and City and Gem
The flour was packed into linen or paper bags.

The mill was enlarged twice, once between 1897 and 1899 and again between 1903 and 1907. It appears on the 1890 Ordnance Survey map as Handsworth Steam Flour Mill. By the time this photo was taken it had become known as Golden Sheaf Mills, operated by S.H. Phillips and Co. Ltd Flour packers.

The mill closed in 1993 after it was sold to Lucas Ingredients Ltd. in February 1992 and the business transferred to Harrogate.
