Description:St Mary's Church, Hamstead Road, Handsworth. The parish church dates originally from the 12th century, but it was enlarged and the tower added 200 years later. A major restoration was undertaken in 1876. By the time this photograph was taken in 1960 the pinnacles had been removed from the tower, although they remain elsewhere on the building.
