Description:Lydia Smith from Handsworth Wood Girls School said about this photograph: "These people go to church and they are getting baptised ready to give their heart to the Lord. I, Lydia Smith, go to church and see people get baptised. The people in white clothes are called Deaconesses and Deacons in our church."
The Pentecostal church is one of the many predominantly or exclusively 'Black' churches that practise baptism by total immersion.
