Description:In 1894, in a temporary building, the Church of the Good Shepherd opened as a mission Church of St Mary's. In 1908 the present church building in the Decorated style was erected on Oxhill Road, near Slack Lane. It opened in January 1909 and was dedicated to St Andrew in 1910. Consecration followed in 1914.
Also in the photograph can be seen the signboard for the firm of Fred Steele Ltd., wholesale confectioners of number 24 Oxhill Road.
