Date:16th of November 1906 - 18th of November 1906 (c.)
Description:Benjamin Stone's Diary entry covering the ancient deeds found by Lieutenant Somerset Gough Calthorpe at Perry Hall. Friday Nov 16 1906 By the 9:20 train home to meet the Rev: Swindell to lunch at the Grange. Miss Fowler at tea. Saturday Nov 17 1906 Went over to Perry Hall to afternoon tea to consult General Calthorpe about a box of old deeds he has found. Mrs and Miss Calthorpe at tea. Brought away a parcel to examine. Home at 6.0 Oscar came to tea. Sunday Nov 18 1906 Mr W. B. Bickley came over in the evening to see the Calthorpe deeds. Notes: The Reverend Swindell was vicar of Erdington and lived at the vicarage on Church Road in Erdington. Miss Fowler is hard to establish who it is as there are several possibilities. Oscar is Oscar Stone from Water Orton and presumably a relative. William Bickleigh Bickley is from Trafalgar Road in Moseley - he has no trade listed so his interest in the Deeds may be as an antiquarian.
