Description:Shops in Birchfield Road, Perry Barr, between the Crown & Cushion and the entrance to the railway station, visible on the far right. In the 1920s Millwards was run by Mr Walker. The sweet shop was known as the Mikado and run by Mr and Mrs Seedhouse and was very popular with schoolboys. Next to the Mikado was the newsagents, Faradays. From a private photographic survey of buildings demolished for the Birchfield Road Underpass scheme, April 1959.
