Description:The parish of Birchfield was assigned out of St Mary's, Handsworth, in 1865. The church, Holy Trinity, had been consecrated on 17 May 1864 and its first vicar was Rev. J.W. Marshall. It was designed by Julius Alfred Chatwin and built by Samuel Brigg.
