Description:Perry Hall was built in 1576 by Sir Robert Stamford who was Lord of the Manor of Perry Barr and Handsworth. This was in fact a re-building as there was already an existing building on the site dating from 1546. The Hall passed into the ownership of the Gough family in 1669 when Sir Henry Gough bought it. It then remained with the Goughs and Gough-Calthorpes until its eventual demolition.

The estate covered 876 acres in 1794 and was then expanded by a further 411 acres in 1801 with the addition of the area known as Kingstanding Warren. The house was added to in 1855 but by 1919 it had been abandoned as a family residence. In 1931 it was demolished except for the stables and one of the lodges, these also being demolished in 1935.

Perry Playing Fields is the site of the house and estate and the boating pool is part of the moat of Perry Hall.
