Description:An exploration of the art of James Bungo Higginbotham (the pen name used by Harry Bernard Wallis). The volume includes a handwritten introduction by Wallis and then descriptions of each of the plates.

Harry was born in 1882, the son of Charles Wallis and Mary Ann Kiddle and brother to Arthur Frederick Wallis. Harry did not marry or have children, however he did pursue a career in teaching and became a university lecturer. Harry Bernard worked for the Ministry of Education, from which he retired in 1945, having been awarded the Companion of Bath (CB) for his work on the Education Act 1944 with Rab Butler. Harry Bernard died in 1956 in Kensington.
