Description:The redevelopment of Balsall Heath meant the Whitehouse family moved out and went to live near Swanshurst Park. This was around 1968 and it was getting towards the time when Keith had leave his school days behind and go to work. His first job was as a trainee car mechanic at Birches Garage Stratford road Hall Green. After a few years he decided on a change of career and trained as a bricklayer. This eventually led to Keith having his own building company and employing a number of people. Much later Keith got into music and began recording and videoing; this led him on again to do some acting work. In a media ‘frenzy` Keith became known as the 'Crooning builder', after a story about him singing in his sleep appeared in the Daily Star newspaper. Keith and his wife Cecilia were inundated with calls from the world’s media. They found themselves giving interviews to radio shows across the world
