Description:The Bell Hotel was on Lozells Lane, later Lozells Road. In 1862-63 the licence holder was B. Harper, but by 1889 Adam Powell held the licence. He was later the licensee of the New Inns on Holyhead Road. This photograph, taken about 1900, shows G.A.Asbury as the proprietor. The 1901 census has George Asbury listed as a 51 year-old Birmingham born tea dealer. An earlier census of 1881 shows him as a 31 year-old general dealer (shop) at 55 Key Hill.
