Description:The Balsall Heath Picture House, later the Luxor Cinema, near Longmore Street. The advertisement dates from 1916 when films were silent but accompanied by live music. This cinema opened originally in 1913 and was one of the most expensive with prices of admission ranging from 4d to Is. It seated 650 and in 1916 provided a full programme comprising a main feature and four short films.
