Description:A newspaper cutting from the "Handsworth Herald",19th June 1897.
This cutting refers to the muzzling order introduced by Staffordshire County Council the previous year, following an outbreak of rabies. A new order had just been introduced on 1st June 1897. The writer claims that large numbers of stray dogs had been rounded up and poisoned before being buried behind Holyhead Road Police Station.
